Every country

In order, highest value first. No rank or position is shown: too many countries share the same value for an order to mean anything. Neither end is better. The top is held by small economies built around tourism or finance, some of which export more services than their whole GDP — normal for a small open economy, not an error. A low share can mean an economy that trades mainly in goods, or one that trades little at all.

08The measure

About services exports

Services exports are what a country earns from selling services to the rest of the world — visitors' spending, shipping and air transport, finance and insurance, software and telecoms, consulting and royalties — shown as a share of GDP so that economies of every size can be compared. It is the half of trade that goods statistics leave out.

What the number is: Services exports (% of GDP).

11Questions

Services exports: questions and answers

Which country has the highest services exports?

Luxembourg, at 166.2128%, among the 181 countries compared in 2025.

Which country has the lowest services exports?

Angola, at 0.0850%, among the 181 countries compared in 2025.

How many countries does the Services Exports cover?

181 in 2025, and 203 at least once across all editions. The number measured varies from 181 to 203 between editions.

What is the world average services exports?

This site does not calculate a world average, which would depend on how countries are weighted. In the middle country of the 181 compared in 2025, the figure was 9.6018%.

Is this UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD)’s own ranking?

No ranking is shown. UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD) publishes values only, and too many countries share the same value for an ordering to mean anything, so none is derived.

How often is the Services Exports published?

This site holds 21 reference years, 2005–2025, all recalculated in UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD)’s 2026 report on one method — not 21 separate publications.

Where does the data come from, and can I download it?

UNCTAD's regional and group totals are left out; the US$ amount is kept beside the share, and UNCTAD's "Estimated" footnote travels with every reading it estimated. How this page reads the numbers

  • No rank or position is shown: UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD) publishes values only, and too many countries share the same value for an ordering to mean anything.
  • This statistic has no better end, so the page describes higher and lower values and never calls a country a leader.
  • A country is named at an end only when it holds that value alone. Where several share it, the page says how many and names none first.
  • Values are stored exactly as published and trimmed only for display. “The middle country” is the median of the countries measured, not a world average.

The file itself, column by column — where it came from, what each column holds, and every edition as a CSV — is on its dataset page.
