170 countries, one dot each, on one scale — further right is a higher value. Half the countries are above 25.416%; a quarter are above 44.793%, and a quarter below 11.799%. The bar in each row marks that continent’s middle country.
04All 199 ever measured
In order, highest value first. “=” marks a position shared with another country. UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD) ranks nobody on this measure; the position is derived here by ordering the published values. It is a share of services exports, not a size. A country that earns most of its services income from tourism and transport reads low however digital its economy is, and a small financial centre reads high on one industry. It also counts services that could be delivered digitally, whether or not they were. A few early readings exceed 100%, where UNCTAD's digitally-deliverable total came out larger than its own services total.

169 countries were measured in both 2023 and 2024. The field changed from 184 to 170 countries, so a place can move for reasons that have nothing to do with the country itself.

08The measure
Digitally-deliverable services are the services that can be sold across a border over a network — finance and insurance, software and IT, licensing of intellectual property, research, consulting, engineering and audiovisual work. This is their share of everything a country earns from exporting services: a read on how far its services trade has moved beyond tourism and transport.
What the number is: Digitally-deliverable services exports (% of services exports).
What it does not measure
It is a share of services exports, not their size, and it counts services that could be delivered digitally whether or not they actually were.
09Where it fits
Its part in the Country Index, the statistics whose values line up most closely with it across countries, and others on the same subject.
In the Country Index
A key statistic for Digital & Technology
“How much of what a country sells abroad in services is delivered over networks — software, finance, telecoms and professional services — its place in the world’s digital trade.”
Where digitally-deliverable services exports is higher, these tend to be higher too.
Where digitally-deliverable services exports is higher, these tend to be lower.
