This is the share of a country’s electricity generation that came from low-carbon sources — renewables and nuclear power together. Ember compiles it each year from national reporting.
What the number is: Low-carbon sources (% of electricity generated).
What it does not measure
It covers electricity only, not transport or heating, and it counts every low-carbon source alike; a reactor, a dam and a solar panel weigh the same here.
