FDI Regulatory Restrictiveness Index
5 years, 2018–2024 · 104 countries · 5 measures
The OECD's FDI Regulatory Restrictiveness Index scores the rules that limit foreign direct investment — caps on foreign ownership, screening and approval requirements, limits on bringing in foreign managers and experts, and other restrictions — across 22 sectors, from 0 (fully open) to 1 (fully closed). It measures the law on the books, not how welcoming a country is in practice.
This site holds every year from 2018 to 2024, read from OECD’s own data and stored exactly as published.

Precision
The headline is stored to 9 decimals, as published.
Rounded by this site
Never. Tables on screen may show fewer decimals; the files never do.
Changed by this site
Reshaped into one row per country: regional and income-group totals are left out, only the columns listed are kept, each row gets its ISO 3166 code, and some country names are brought to one spelling. No value is recalculated, rescaled or rounded.
Read from the OECD's own SDMX API. The four policy categories are stored beside the headline; because a sector cannot score more than fully closed, they can add up to slightly more than the total. The OECD's older vintages of the index, built on an earlier method, are not mixed in.
