35 reference years (1991–2025), covering 182 to 187 countries, produced by the ILO and pulled through the World Bank’s indicator API (SL.UEM.1524.ZS). The share of 15-to-24-year-olds in the labour force who are without work but available for it and looking. The overall unemployment rate is already on the site; the youth rate runs two to three times higher almost everywhere and moves differently, which is why it says something the headline cannot. ⚠ It shares the headline rate’s blind spot — a young person who has stopped looking is not counted here at all, which is what the NEET share measures instead. ⚠ It also has a denominator trap: it is a share of the youth LABOUR FORCE, not of all young people, so a country that keeps most of its teenagers in education can post a high rate off a small base. ⚠ MODELLED, not measured. ⚠ The ILO ranks nobody, so no rank is stored; the POSITION on the statistics page is derived here by ordering the score and labelled as ours.
