63 reference years (1961–2023), covering 146 to 180 countries, from FAOSTAT via the World Bank’s indicator API (AG.YLD.CREL.KG). Kilograms of grain harvested per hectare. Unlike the land and sector shares beside it this one really is directional: getting more grain from the same ground is the definition of agricultural productivity, and it is how a growing population gets fed without clearing more forest. ⚠ The very top of the table is small territories farming a tiny, intensively worked area — not the world’s great grain producers, who sit lower and grow vastly more. ⚠ 2024 is not imported: only 79 countries had reported, one short of the floor. ⚠ These are not separate published reports — `restatedByReport` names the World Development Indicators release they were pulled from. ⚠ A statistic, not an index: no rank is published, so none is stored, and it is not in the Country Index; the POSITION shown on the statistics page is derived here by ordering the score, and labelled as ours.
