Statutory Minimum Wage

25 years, 2000–2024 · 152 countries · 2 measures

This is the lowest monthly wage the law allows an employer to pay, converted by the International Labour Organization into dollars of equal purchasing power, so that a legal pay floor set in pesos can be compared with one set in euros or rupees.

This site holds every year from 2000 to 2024, read from ILO’s own data and stored exactly as published.

Precision

The headline is stored to 3 decimals, as published.

Rounded by this site

Never. Tables on screen may show fewer decimals; the files never do.

Changed by this site

Reshaped into one row per country: regional and income-group totals are left out, only the columns listed are kept, each row gets its ISO 3166 code, and some country names are brought to one spelling. No value is recalculated, rescaled or rounded.

Read from ILOSTAT directly, in the 2021 purchasing-power dollars the ILO itself publishes beside local currency and US dollars. A few figures that the ILO’s own other columns show to be mistaken — a wage filed in the wrong currency, a monthly figure divided by twelve twice — are left out rather than corrected.
