This is what the person in the middle of a country’s income distribution lives on each day — half the population have less, half have more — in 2021 purchasing-power-parity dollars, so a dollar buys the same basket everywhere. It is the closest single number to a typical person’s living standard, and unlike an average it is not lifted by a few very high incomes.
This site holds every edition from 2002 to 2023, read from World Bank Group’s own data and stored exactly as published.

Precision
The headline is stored to 4 decimals, as published.
Rounded by this site
Never. Tables on screen may show fewer decimals; the files never do.
Changed by this site
Reshaped into one row per country: regional and income-group totals are left out, only the columns listed are kept, each row gets its ISO 3166 code, and some country names are brought to one spelling. No value is recalculated, rescaled or rounded.
Read from the World Bank’s Poverty and Inequality Platform, which publishes the median to four decimals; the Bank’s indicator API carries no median at all. Years outside 2002–2023 fall below 60 countries and are not imported.
