4 editions — 2010, 2017, 2018 and 2020 — covering 103 to 172 countries, pulled from the World Bank's indicator API (HD.HCI.OVRL). The score is the productivity a child born today can expect to reach by age 18, relative to a benchmark of complete education and full health. ⚠ This is a CLOSED series, not one waiting for a new edition: the Human Capital Project has folded its reporting into other World Bank output. 2010 and 2017 are back-calculations published with the 2018 report rather than editions that existed at the time, which is also why coverage climbs across them. ⚠ The Bank does not rank countries on the HCI, so no rank is stored; the POSITION shown on the statistics page is derived here by ordering the score, and labelled as ours.
