32 reference years (1990–2021), covering 93 to 152 countries, from the World Bank’s Changing Wealth of Nations and served through its indicator API (NY.ADJ.SVNG.GN.ZS). National savings after subtracting the depletion of natural resources and the damage done by pollution, and adding what is spent on education. It asks whether a country is genuinely building wealth or consuming the capital it already has. ⚠ NEGATIVE VALUES ARE REAL AND ARE THE POINT: a country running down an oil field faster than it invests the proceeds is meant to read below zero, and the worst readings run past −50% of GNI. A floor at zero would reject exactly the countries the measure exists to identify. ⚠ The series ends in 2021 — the Bank has published nothing later for it. ⚠ No rank is published, so none is stored or derived.
